I’m an organizer by nature. I also love turning people on to new music, art, films, food, trails, ideas, and so forth. Public relations is a lot like figuring out a Rubik’s cube. Crafty storytellers need to listen and ask a lot of questions to figure out what the story is and then they need to tell it in the most compelling way, using the best platform, to reach the intended audience. And when everything lines up, voila, magic happens! From festivals showcasing music, film, and wine, to land trusts, outdoor and environmental organizations, my clients constantly keep me on my toes with new stories to tell.
It was 2006 when Facebook finally allowed everyone to begin using its media platform. It was an immediate game changer for small businesses and non-profits. Social media helped them share their story, connect with audiences, and grow their businesses and organizations. Fourteen years later, the rules to some of the platforms have changed, but the game is still the same - whoever tells the best story wins!
My father is a carpenter. When I build a website it always makes me think of him because a website for most client’s is both a big expenditure and a long-term venture, just like a house. Websites help organize and define, which is why I love working with clients on what and how they want their websites to communicate the services they provide. I also really enjoy working with other creative professionals such as photographers, videographers, graphic designers and UX/UI designers to help tell a client’s story. My role is to bring a vision or concept to the client, gather all the pieces together, ensure everyone understands their role and executes it to their highest ability, and deliver a product that not only everyone is proud of, but works!
